Community Meeting Minutes

1. Josh opened the meeting. Primary focus of meeting is the road maintenance.
Thanks to Dolly for organizing and paying cost for the meeting.
2. Open up for discussion of ideas.
3. Mr. Olsen suggested we introduce ourselves.
4. Susan Cameron - made comment on road maintenance, it used to be that when
someone built a home they repaired the road.
- Question was asked where the major problems are
-Culvert that used to be in place
-Used to be a spring, but it is dry
-Maintenance will be required regardless
-More people means more traffic
-Road washes into school parking lot
-Some work was done last summer with the removal of ledges
-Legalities of right-aways
-small dicussions

5. Bill Bridges offered to look into right away issues.
6. Julio suggested that 1/2 of road in front of his house is his responsibility.
7. Josh- deeded right aways, with rights of the public to use the road.
8. Formerly the community had someone who collected money each year, John Lingerfelt.
9. Josh - suggested that we have multiple people who have rights to the collection money. Two people from separate households. Also two people to be Managers - get quotes and talk with vendors.
10. Question, What is reasonable for people to contribute?
11. Dolly has researched other communities and they have one set price; no matter where you live on the street.
12. Julio discussed doing above suggestion.
13. What is the cost to pave to Nina's? Paving -$16,000 was quoted 3 years ago. Tar and chip - $27,000 was quoted in Feb of 2010. The cost of $27,000 is Turn Key
14. Question asked : What are environmental hazards of tar and chip.
15. Short term - gravel; save up over the next couple of years for paving/tar and chip
16. Question was asked about rental property
-Small cabin that is rented by Greybeard

-Another cabin on Dicksy lane

17. Initial money can be more for upfront cost and then lesser amount for yearly fee.
18. How much per year? Last time (4?years ago- was $75.00 year , $50 before that)
19. Someone state they don't want to spend money on a quick term fix, for it to go away.
20. Someone stated from this point on, require new construction to put down a deposit.
21. Concern of garbage trucks are going too fast and tearing up the road. Call Waste Management if you have concern.
22. Volunteers for road maintenance discussed? Managers- was suggested for a man to do this.
-
Clay Heck and Vince Brockman are nominated and agreed upon for Managers.
-Dolly Cairns and Lagere Hartbarger are nominated and agreed upon for Treasures.

23. There will be at least two or three quotes from separate vendors/graders.
24. Area to be addressed will be from beginning of road to paved area.
25. Clay wants to look into more information on tar and chip.
26. Clay and Vince will get some numbers together on various possibilities to compare prices.
27. Discussion about what to do right now, some wanted to tar and gravel, but others said it's too expensive for their budgets right now. They would be unable to contribute the large lump sum needed to move forward with paving or tar and chip.

The amount of $250.00 a year for each household was suggested and agreed upon by the group.
29. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY - for respect of houses on the road. The dust consumes their house!
-Please make sure your guests are also respectful of our neighborhood by
driving slowly.
30. Motion made to pay $250.00 now and Dolly will check on bank account to setup.

COMMUNITY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 15TH AT 6:30.

THE MEETING WILL BE AT W.D. WILLIAMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in the Cafeteria
